Internet Explorer (IE) Version 7 Recommended Settings for Hyperion Products

Goal

Following settings should be applied in order for Hyperion Products to work correctly with Internet Explorer 7

Solution

1) Force IE 7 to check for new version every time user visits a page
    a. Open IE7 
    b. Go to Tools>Internet options>General 

           

    c. In browsing history section select settings 

  

    d. Make sure Every time I visit the webpage is selected 
    e. Click Ok, then Apply.

2) Make sure you disable IE default pop up blocking  
    a. Open IE7 
    b. Go to Tools>Internet options>Privacy 

    c. Make sure to Turn on Pop-up Blocker is not enabled 


3) Add workspace url to trusted sites 
    a. Open IE7 
    b. Go to Tools>Internet options>Security 


    c. Select Trusted sites from Select a zone to view or change security settings.



    d. Type your workspace URL in form http://workspaceserver:portnumber in Add this website to the zone
       deselect Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone
        Click Add, then Close. 

    e. Click Ok, then Apply. 

4) Minimize security setting for trusted sites 
    a. Open IE7 
    b. Go to Tools>Internet options>Security 
    c. Select Trusted Sites from select a zone to view or change security settings

  

    d. Select custom level 

  

    e. From Reset to list select Low 
    f. Click Ok
    g. Click Apply, then Ok

5) Open IE 7 --> Tools --> Internet options --> Privacy Tab --> Advanced --> Check the "Override automatic cookie handling" and accept the first and third party cookies and check the "Always allow session cookies" option. 

6) Open IE 7 --> Tools --> Internet options --> Advanced Tab --> Uncheck the option "Enable Native XMLHTTP". 

7) Open IE 7 --> Tools --> Internet options --> Security Tab --> Custom Level --> Miscellaneous --> Enable the option "Allow script-initiated windows without size or position constraints"
