Applies to:
Hyperion Financial Data Quality Management - Version: 9.3.1.0.00 to 11.1.2.0.00 - Release: 9.3 to 11.1Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
Currently HFM and Essbase allow "Spaces" in the values of their Entity names, but the FDM Web-Interface does not allow spaces in the "Parent" field.
The following error is returned:
Windows internet explorer alert message:
This is invalid cell data
The following message is returned on the Parent Field:
Invalid character or space used
Cause
HFM and Essbase allow "Spaces" in the values of their Entity names, but the FDM Web-Interface does not allow spaces in the "Parent" field. This causes a problem when an application design includes them.Unpublished Enhancement Request 8816528 has been entered for FDM.
Solution
The web interface does not allow spaces in certain fields due to the current design. If the space is required in the "Parent" field for a Validation entity, they can be inserted via an Excel template. This does not follow the restrictions of the Web Interface.
Workaround:
Apply these steps:
1. Export the current Validation Entity Group to Excel
2. Update the Validation Entity Group in Excel as appropriate
3. Import the Excel Template
