Symptoms

Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) Schema Upgrade Utility fails with error: "HFMShemaUpgrade Module encountered a problem and needed to close"  "szModname:mscr89.dll".

Cause

During HFM installation, the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) was corrupted.

Solution

Download and install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package:
