Symptoms

When you launch a "Custom Document" from an HFM tasklist (tasklists were called "workspaces" previous to HFM 9.3.1 release), the custom document opens as an attachment and takes over the whole Workspace browser window.

If you close the custom document with "X" in top corner, you are actually closing your whole Workspace session and need to log in again.

What is desired is that instead of this behaviour, the custom document should open in a sub frame within the Workspace browser window, the same way as a Data Grid or Web Data Entry Form does when you select it.

Cause

The cause of the issue is the HFM UI code in 9.3.1 and 11.1.1 releases, which treats all documents as "attachments" and does not try to render them in a subframe of the existing browser window.

Solution

This issue will be resolved in release of HFM 11.1.1 (which will be numbered 11.1.1.1)

It will also be resolved in HFM 9.3.1 Service Pack 3, or for customers still on HFM 9.3.1.1, it was resolved in Service Fix 9.3.1.1.6.

All customers are recommended to install all Service Packs as they are released by Oracle Hyperion.
