Symptoms
Using the copy application, the following error appears in the produced logfile:
Beginning processing for table HSX_datasources
Error: failed to select existing application information from the source HSX_DATASOURCES
Error : SQL Error :ORA-00933
Error : processing aborted for table HSX_DATASOURCES ...
The UDL files pointing to the two databases work fine.
Cause
This issue can be seen when running the CopyApplication utility on a machine where the Oracle 10.2 Client is installed, copying an application from an Oracle 9.2 Database server to an Oracle 10.2 Database server.Solution
To avoid this problem, run the CopyApplication utility from a machine where Oracle Client 9.2 is installed. It should still be able to copy the application to a target 10.2 server, and it will not produce errors when dealing with a source application running on a 9.2 database.
