Symptoms

When attempting to import a source gl file into FDM, the import fails with Error: “ -2147217887 Data Access Error. Account=XY”.  The error message occurs when trying to import a file with the POV set to an FDM location with a logic group assigned.  If the logic group field on the locations workflow behaviors tab is set to [None], the import process is successful.  

Cause

The cause of this problem has been identified in Bug 7214403. There is a difference in the way Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and Microsoft SQL Server 2005 handle OLE DB port connections under large volumes of data load.

Solution

Service Fix 9.3.1.2.00 (Patch 8429909) addresses this issue and it is now available in Metalink.  Please refer to the Read-me file included with the download for instructions on installing the service pack.
