Applies to:
Hyperion Financial Data Quality Management - Version: 9.2.0.0.00 to 11.1.1.1.00 - Release: 9.2 to 11.1Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
When importing a trial balance into FDM the end user is receiving a data access error and the import fails with a white fish.Cause
A review of the error log (Tools/View Error Log) shows an invalid character in the mapping. The proof that this is the cause of the problem is that FDM uses the mapping values to build the SQL statement for the database insert on import. The error log shows that the SQL statement does not parse correctly. Since the SQL statement was built based on the mapping, the invalid character must exist in the mapping.Solution
Review the account dimension mapping for the items listed in the SQL statement. The mapping entries containing the invalid database characters will need to be updated and the characters will need to be removed. The invalid characters are as follows:
' " < > &
Please see the FDM Web Client Admin Guide for further information on mapping.
