Symptoms
SmartView menu does not appear in the Excel menu bar (Office 2003) or Hyperion tab does not appear in the Ribbon (Office 2007)Cause
Possible causes:
1. The SmartView DLLs are missing or have not been registered successfully during installation.
2. SmartView Add-in has been disabled by Excel.
Solution
Overview1. Check that SmartView is enabled
2. Re-install
1. Check that SmartView is enabled
Office 2003:
1.1. Point to Help > About Microsoft Office Excel
1.2. Choose Disabled Items... (button at the bottom)
1.3. If SmartView is listed, select it and choose Enable
1.4. Choose Close
1.5. Close and re-open Excel
Office 2007:
1.1. Choose the Office Button
1.2. Choose Excel Options (at the bottom)
1.3. At the left, select Add-Ins
1.4. Check the top section, 'Active Application Add-ins'. It should list SmartView twice -- see the screenshot. Then scroll to the very bottom and look at the 'Disabled Application Add-ins' section.
1.5. If Smart View for Office shown disabled, select it, change the status to enabled and choose OK.
1.6. Choose Close
1.7. Close and re-open Excel

For the remaining steps in this solution, you must be logged into the PC as a local administrator and all unnecessary programs should be closed.

2.1. Uninstall SmartView and check that all files (especially HsAddin.dll) are not present anywhere on the machine
