Symptoms

Users are getting "An unknown error has occurred in the HsvDSCalcStatus object" when promoting an entity using process control

Changes

The DefaultFreq property of the Scenario has been changed in the FM application's metadata

Cause

The DefaultFreq property of the Scenario has been changed in the FM application's metadata from YTD to QTD

The promotion of Process unit is based on Year/Period/Scenario/Entity POV combination and any change of property (e.g. DefCurrency for Entity or Frequency for Scenario) will result in the error.

Solution

1. Load the metadata with the prior property. e.g if the scenario DefaultFreq was changed from Periodic to MTD, make sure the metadata is loaded with property Periodic
2. In Process Management, Reject the process unit to status "Not Started"
3. Load the metadata with the new property. e.g. load the metadata with MTD as DefaultFreq property
4. Start to promote from 'Not Started' to desired level
