Symptoms
An Enterprise Performance Management Architect (EPMA) type Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) application could not be deployed. The EPMA job library displays the following messages for the attempted deployment job:
An unknown error has occurred in the HsvDataSourceImpl object.

Review of the attachment job message shows details similar to the following:

Cause
The Oracle instance initialization parameters have not been optimized for the expected number of database connections that will come from HFM application servers.
Solution
Oracle instance must have the appropriate values configured for the SESSIONS and PROCESSES initialization parameters.Details for determining appropriate values can be found in the Database Information For Financial Management section of the EPM Installation and Configuration Guide as well as in the HFM Performance Tuning Guide
