Symptoms
When attempting to create a new FDM application within the Workbench client <create>the following error occurs:
ERROR:
Object variable with block variable not set
STEPS
1. Choose <new Application> and login. Enter the Application Name, Description, App Path and click on the Database tab providing the appropriate database information.
2. Click OK.
3. User receives message "application successfully created".
4. Click OK again.
5. The error message "Object variable or with block variable not set" is returned to the end user.
Cause
The FDM Service Account does not have write permissions to the FDM application path or the FDM application path is specified with a UNC format with the slashes for the path pointing in the wrong directory
(/)
rather than
(\)
. Solution
1) Verifuy the application path is specified as a UNC folder share (\\servername\share) and that the slashes are correct.
2) Verifiy that the FDM Service account has write share and NTFS permissions to the shared folder to be able to write to the directory properly. The service account should be specified as a member of the local administrators group on the FDM Application/Web server(s).
