Symptoms
Error: "Error occurred while attempting to compress and then add a file to c:\program files\Hyperion Solutions\Hyperion Enterprise\Enterprise\SITES\work\DAT~HQ_.ZIP"
Error: "sites.exe has encountered an error and needs to be closed"
Cause
DFS (Distributed File System) is installed on the server on which the application folder is located
Solution
DFS Technology was introduced by Microsoft to facilitate WAN management of data and server locations. DFS uses a generic form to reference the location of the application in the hypent.ini file. This generic form is not recognised by the SITES module and the data transmission fails. The workaround is to reference the application path in the hypent.ini file using either unc or a drive letter
