Symptoms

After logging in to Hyperion Enterprise, cannot select the Application Server ID to run any server based processing .The drop-down arrow to make this selection is grayed out.

New installation of Hyperion Enterprise

Cause

There are several possible causes

1. Application server component has not been installed during the Hyperion Enterprise Installation.

2. The component is installed but in the Application.ini file in the Hyperion Application folder the following parameter has been set to zero.
                       APP_USE_SERVER="0"

This has to be set to 1 for turning on the Application Server options in the Application Module.

Solution

Ensure that following is done to resolve this.

1.During the Hyperion Enterprise installation, select the components, make sure the Enterprise Application Server is selected and installed.

2. If it is installed, in Application.ini file in the Application folder,  make sure that APP_USE_SERVER="1" set.  While performing this step make sure that all the users are logged out from Hyperion Enterprise.
