Hyperion EnterpriseSymptoms
"Set Password Expiration" causes user's passwords to expire immediately. For example, the Administrator has set the password expiry to 60 days from now but the user's password expires as soon as they log out and log back in.
Cause
The user was logged in the system when the administrator was setting the password expiry.Solution
It is not recommended that any changes are made in the Security module while users are in the system. Use the Users in Application Report to determine if this is the case before making any changes, and once everyone is logged out ensure they don't log back in until the changes have been completed. If no users are logged in the system when the administrator sets the password expiry, the passwords will expire at the correct time.
To view the Users in Application Report:
In APPLICATION MODULE select TASK -> RUN USERS IN APPLICATION REPORT
To set the Password Expiration date:
- Log into Application
- Select Application Module
- Select Navigate - Security
- Select Task - Set Password Expiration
- Select Password Age in Days and then OK
