Error: "Communication error with server. Callback failed for data entry page" when opening a Planning Web Form with member of Text Type [ID 1392689.1] To Bottom

Symptoms

When attempting to open a Planning web form which includes member of type Text that has a value of '0', the following error occurs.

Planning PSU 11.1.2.1.101 has been installed

Cause

There is a problem in the software code in the jsp file: EnterData_Inner.jsp which is executed when opening a Planning webform.

The execution fails because of a missing record for the '0' value in the HSP_TEXT_CELL_VALUE table.

The issue was reported in an unpublished Bug 13564186 - "communication error with server" error while opening data forms -11.1.2.1.101.

Solution

To resolve this issue, you should download PSE 13588588 from My Oracle Support (Patches & Updates section) and install it following the instructions provided in the PSE readme file.

1. Log into the My Oracle Support portal.   https://support.oracle.com
2. Choose the Patches & Updates tab.
3. Select Patch Name or Number from the drop-down box.
4. Perform a search for Patch:13588588 for your corresponding OS platform.
5. The patch file includes both installers and the readme.

Apply the latest service fix for Planning Patch 14464109: Patch Set Update: 11.1.2.1.600  Oracle Hyperion Planning, Fusion Edition which also fixes the issue.
