Symptoms

In version 11.1.2.0.00 of the Oracle EPM LCM utility, unable to migrate Planning Application's access permissions via the Shared Services LCM Utility.  The LCM import of access permissions into the Planning applications fail with error "Premature end of File", displayed in the Migration Status Report.

Cause

This issue was caused by an unpublished BUG "10236113 - ERROR "PREMATURE END OF FILE" OCCURS WHEN LOADING ACCESS PERMISSIONS VIA LCM"

If there are no Access permissions associated with provisioned Group in the Planning application then the LCM utility will generate an empty .xml file for the corresponding Access permission artifact which will cause the error "Premature end of File"

Solution

This issue has been fixed in the Oracle EPM v11.1.2.1.00 release.  This release can be downloaded from the Oracle Software Delivery Cloud.

There are 2 separate workarounds that can be used in EPM v11.1.2.0:

1.  Add a single access permission to the provisioned group with no defined access in the source application and then import the LCM package into the target application.

2.  Ignore the error message during import and continue importing remaining artifacts.
