Modified 03-JAN-2011 Type PROBLEM |
Applies to:
Hyperion Financial Data Quality Management - Version: 11.1.1.0.00<max_ver> and later [Release: 11.1 and later ]Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
When attempting to Export to Excel, receive error, "91 - Object variable or With block variable not set". This occurs when attempting to export any grid within FDM with the "export to excel" option available and also occurs from within the FDM workbench client on the server when attempting to export to Excel.
Excel 2007 is installed on the FDM application server in the environment.
Changes
UN-installed Microsoft Excel 2007 and installed Microsoft Excel 2003. Re-ran the "export to excel" function within FDM and continued to receive the same error message.Cause
The FDM application path contains two shared folders. The application path currently is specified as \\<servername>\share1\share2\<appname>. The sharing permissions on the highest level shared folder only allows "Read" access for the FDM Service account. The FDM service account must have the ability to write to the share in order to create the Excel file in the outbox directory for the application.
Solution
a) Open Windows Explorer on the server that contains the Application Folder Shares
b) Right-Click on the highest level shared folder and choose "properties"
c) Click on the "sharing" tab and click the "permissions" button.
d) Update the sharing permissions to allow the FDM service account "Change" or "Full Control" by checking the corresponding boxes.
e) Click Apply and OK to save the change.
f) Click on the Security tab and verify that the FDM service account is listed and has write NTFS permissions.
g) Repeat this process for the 2nd level folder share
