FDM User Maintenance Menu Returns Error: "Index Out of Range"

  Modified 07-JUL-2010     Type PROBLEM

Applies to:

Hyperion Financial Data Quality Management - Version: 11.1.1.1.00<max_ver> and later   [Release: 11.1 and later ]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When attempting to modify an existing user or add a new user within the user maintenance menu in FDM, an error message is returned.  The error message states: "Error: Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection. Parameter name: index"

Cause

A new MSAD provider for the Asia domain was just added within the user directories listing in shared services.  Currently the directory does not have a logon attribute defined.  FDM requires that the logon attribute be defined as "sAMAccountName" and currently this is blank.

Also the user that is being provisioned is contained in both the USA domain and the ASIA domain.  Currently the user does not have the same provisioning level for the FDM application in the USA and ASIA Domains which results in this error message.

Solution

Solution:

a) Launch Shared Services and login as a provisioning manager
b) Choose Administration > Configure User Directories
c) Click the radio button next to the new domain and choose "edit"
d) Click on the second tab and populate the logon attribute with sAMAccountName and save the change
e) Perform a search in the USA Domain and ASIA Domain for any user provisioned in FDM that exists in both domains
f) Provision the user with the same security in both domains for the FDM application
g) Save the changes.
