Symptoms

Plug account shows a different value compared to the Intercompany Matching Report

Cause

An entity has an intercompany transaction entered against itself in a sub entity

Solution

If an entity has ah  intercompany transaction against itself in a subentity, the balance will eliminate within the substructure as this is where the first common parent is found.  The fact that it eliminates is fine however the elimination will not show up in the Intercompany Matching Report as you cannot create an elimination entity within a substructure

In order to match the Intercompany Matching Report to the plug account, remove the transaction and rerun the consolidation
