Goal

The Essbase server was installed as part of the EPM platform (not as Standalone mode) . How to start the Essbase server for administration purposes without shared Services. Is there is an alternative to the standard script or a Workaround ?

Solution

Since the registry database was introduced in version 11.x, it is not possible to startup Essbase as a standalone unless Essbase was initially installed in a standalone mode. Even if installed in a standalone mode, foundation Shared services needs to be installed first and once Essbase set up it could be started without Shared Services service actually running as opposed to a non standalone install.
