APPLIES TO:Hyperion Financial Management - Version 11.2.0.0.000 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform. SYMPTOMSHFM consolidations, Inter-company Reports, SmartView submits and Data Loads are slower after applying (Oracle Hyperion Financial Management) HFM 11.1.2.4.208 PSU or upgrading to 11.2.CHANGESApplied Patch 28511735 Patch Set Update: 11.1.2.4.208 for Oracle Hyperion Financial ManagementUpgrade to 11.2 CAUSESlower update performance is possible due to integrity fix for Unpublished Bug 28665974 "Close a time window where it is possible to get at the parent entity with OK status while having child entity with CN or CH status".SOLUTIONDevelopment is still investigating ways to improve performance and still ensure application integrity in unpublished bug 2934385429343854 29343854 29343854 .A workaround for the performance issue was added to HFM 11.1.2.4.208 PSE, Oracle Patch 29671051. This PSE adds a new Setting in Consolidation Administration > Settings called UseCalcStatusCacheDuringConsol. This setting allows you to turn ON, setting of 1, the use of Calculation Status Cache to improve consolidation performance at the risk of causing Calculation status inconsistencies caused by users updating data while a consolidation is running. The default for this new setting is for the Cache to be OFF, setting of 0, so Calculation Status should be consistent when users update data while consolidations are running. After applying PSE 29671051 and the sql script is executed to insert the new setting, Navigate to Consolidation Administration > Settings and locate UseCalcStatusCacheDuringConsol. Change to 1 to see better consolidation performance or leave at 0 to ensure Calculation Status consistency. For HFM 11.2: The setting for UseCalcStatusCacheDuringConsol should have been part of the Default settings in 11.2 but this was missed, unpublished Bug 30729143 - MISSING "USECALCSTATUSCACHEDURINGCONSOL" SETTING IN HFM 11.2. SQL scripts attached to this article will allow the setting to be added and visible from Consolidation Administration > Settings. To insert the new entry to the download and execute the corresponding <Database>_UseCalcStatusCacheDuringConsol.sql. *Note that the HFM applications need to be restarted for new settings to take effect.
