Symptoms

Error: "Component Transfer error"  received while performing a workstation installation of Hyperion Enterprise.

Cause

The shared target folder (Hyperion Solutions ) in the server has not been given FULL CONTROL for the user who is performing a workstation installation of Hyperion Enterprise.

Solution

The installer should have FULL CONTROL over the executable folder:

1) Navigate to the target folder (Hyperion Solutions folder) in the server.This folder is generally shared.
2) Right Click on target folder and click properties.
3) Click on the sharing tab
4) Click on Permissions
5) Add the installing user and Assign FULL CONTROL .
6) Also make sure the user has FULL CONTROL clicking on the security tab.
