Error EPMHFM-66021

An error occurred while initializing module oracle.epm.fm.dslm.DSLMHsxModuleInterface" When Opening Applications (Doc ID 2275603.1)

SYMPTOMS

HFM (Hyperion Financial Management Server) Service will not start after unexpected shutdown. When trying to start the service "Oracle Hyperion Financial Management - Java Server" it won't start. The oracle-epm-fm-hsx-server.log shows the below error.

Error: "EPMHFM-66021: An error occurred while initializing module oracle.epm.fm.dslm.DSLMHsxModuleInterface"

Below messages appear in the oracle-epm-fm-hsx-server.log under the folder \Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\epmsystem1\diagnostics\logs\hfm

oracle.epm.fm.common.exception.HFMException: EPMHFM-65536: An unexpected error has occurred.
at oracle.epm.fm.dslm.DataSourceRecoveryFileManager.recoverDatasourceProcessesInfo(DataSourceRecoveryFileManager.java:169)

CHANGES

 The HFM Server was shutdown unexpectedly without stopping the Hyperion Services.

CAUSE

When there is an unexpected restart occurs, the running XFMDatasource details / contents won't get cleared from the file ".RunningDatasourcesInfo" which is under the location \Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\epmsystem1\products\FinancialManagement\Server\

This would cause the new XFMDataSource process not to start.

SOLUTION

Please follow the below steps to solve this issue.

1. Stop "Oracle Hyperion Financial Management - Java Server" if running.
2. Kill all the "XFmDataSource.exe" from the task manager if any.
3. Clear the contents of the running datasources info file (\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\epmsystem1\products\FinancialManagement\Server\.RunningDatasourcesInfo)
4. Start "Oracle Hyperion Financial Management - Java Server" service again.
