Documents in Folders with Spaces in Folder Names are Not Accessible from Browser View Menu Links

Symptoms

After clicking on a document name such as a Web Data Entry Form or Data Grid in the Browser View menu on the left hand side of the HFM Web interface (Navigation frame of the Hyperion Workspace), the document cannot be properly opened in the main HFM content frame.

However, if the user is working in "Project View" in the left hand navigation frame, the document can still be opened by clicking on it.

The document can also be opened via Navigate > Manage Documents (Document Manager) menu options.

Cause

It was discovered that this clicking and loading in Browser View fails whenever the document is located in a folder which contains a space.

This was found to be a code issue in the Web User Interface of Hyperion Financial Management 9.3.1.

The issue was logged with HFM development teams as unpublished Bug 6752751

Solution

This issue is resolved in the latest Service Packs of Hyperion System 9 Financial Management Release 9.3.1.    At time of publishing this article the latest Service Pack is 9.3.1 SP 4 (Patch 8259783)

All customers are recommended to install the latest available Service Pack of Financial Management 9.3.1.

Any customer who for some reason is not willing to install the Service Pack can also find a resolution for this issue in Service Fix 9.3.1.18 (Patch 7020295).
