Symptoms

Extract of Data does not include All validated Sub accounts.

An extract is attempted using a name list and an account list. The account list contains validated sub accounts which only contain certain data for certain members of the entity list in use. Dependent on the order in which the Account List and Entity List are selected in the DataBase module and the Entity Point of View (POV) in the Database Module . Varying amounts of data are extracted, i.e. not all validated sub accounts which contain data for all the entities in the chosen entity list are extracted.

Cause

As with all validated sub accounts, the sub accounts which display data very entity to entity. When data is extracted from various POV the data available to extract will very depended on how the list used to extract data are chosen and which accounts are available to the POV Entity.

A setting is available to force Oracle Hyperion Enterprise to evaluate all validated sub accounts for all the entities in the selected lists.

Solution

There is a setting which forces Oracle Hyperion Enterprise (Enterprise) to evaluate ALL validated sub accounts for ALL entities in the chosen Account and Entity List.. 

To Resolve the issue 

Log out of Enterprise and all related modules (Retrieve, Reporting etc)

Add the line below into the default section of Hypent.ini for an affected user..

This file in located in the Windows folder a fat client machine for versions prior to 6.5.1, The hypent_home folder for version 6.5.1 and later. If citrix/terminal server is in use, the file will be located in either the PROFILE folder of the user or their HOME folder. The file can be edited using Notepad or similar text editor. Before making changes, take a back-up of the file first


Add the line below into the default section of the file at the TOP after the line [DEFAULT]

APP_PRE_DATA_EXTRACT_VIEW_VALIDATED_ACCOUNT_CHECKBOX=1

Then re-start Enterprise to force a read of the hypent.ini file.
Once in place the setting should force an extract of all Validated Accounts for all Entities in chosen lists.
